Clinical Practice Councils
Nursing Leadership
The Nursing Leadership council serves as an advisory leadership forum for the Chief Nurse Executive/Vice President of Acute Care. It provides direction in the use of professional practice standards and effective utilization of resources, reflecting the organization’s mission, philosophy and performance targets.
Nursing Quality
The Nursing Quality council is responsible to measure and analyze patient care data which is reflective of the quality of nursing care provided at Exeter Hospital. They identify and prioritize opportunities to improve patient care and collaborate with other disciplines as necessary to enhance practice and therefore improve patient outcomes.
Clinical Research
The Clinical Research council’s role is to monitor, evaluate and improve processes impacting patient outcomes and clinical practices, while supporting research and integrating findings into evidence-based practice.
Patient Care Standards
The Patient Care Standards council is empowered as a decision making body that responds to clinical practice issues within nursing. They define, implement and maintain the highest standards of practice consistent with national standards, standards set forth by specialty organizations, and regional and community standards that are consistent with the institutional philosophies. Patient Care Standards supports unit-based practice, quality and outcome activities while facilitating the implementation of Standards of Nursing Practice.
Nursing Professional Development
The Nursing Professional Development council promotes the professional nursing image and discusses opportunities to recruit, retain and cultivate the highest quality workforce. The council works closely with the Clinical Education Department to develop and evaluate programs for the purpose of creating and advancing a highly skilled and motivated nursing staff that provides quality patient care.
Leadership at Exeter Hospital is encouraged, interactive and continually evolving. Nurses throughout the hospital have access to resources that impact and improve patient care practices.
